Povzetek
Ob novi generaciji mladih se učitelji soočajo z drugačnimi načini poučevanja. Spletna generacija ali milenijci (millennials), ki zdaj obiskujejo vzgojno izobraževalne zavode, imajo učna pričakovanja, sloge in potrebe, ki se razlikujejo od prejšnjih generacij mladih. Pred začetkom procesa prilagajanja potrebam spletnim generacijam je zato potrebno, da si učitelji in predavatelji odgovorijo na naslednja vprašanja:
- ali poznate svoje učence/študente ter njihove značilnosti in prednosti ter kako se jim boste prilagodili?
- kakšno razmerje med fizičnimi (učilnica) in virtualnimi svetovi učenja je primerno za populacijo učencev/študentov v 21. stoletju?
- katere so najboljše metode vključevanja IKT v vaše poučevanje?
Prvi del prispevka je namenjen predstavitvi raziskav, ki so bile opravljene v ZDA in pozneje v Avstraliji o značilnostih spletne generacije. Raziskave potrjujejo, da novodobna generacija mladih zahteva drugačen pristop in je zato potrebno prilagoditi strategije poučevanja. Novi načini poučevanja temeljijo na izkustvenem učenju, interaktivnosti, primernih načinih iskanja informacij, pridobivanju digitalne pismenosti, takojšnji odzivnosti….
V drugem delu prispevka pa so predstavljene aktivnosti in možne rešitve, ki se v projektu E-šolstvo razvijajo za podporo učiteljem pri njihovem usposabljanju. Te vključujejo uporabo elektronskega listovnika, kot tehnologije in metodologije za spremljanje in samorefleksijo svojega dela, prikaz in dokazovanje lastnih zmožnosti in orodje za samoizražanje.
Abstract
By the new generation, teachers have to address different ways of teaching. Internet generation or millennials which visit educational institutions at the moment, have teaching expectations, styles and needs which differ from previous generations of youth. Before starting the process of adapting the needs to fit the Internet generation, teachers and lecturers must answer the following questions:
- Do you know your pupils/students and their characteristics and strengths in order to successfully adapt to them?
- What is the appropriate ratio between real (classroom) and virtual teaching spaces for the population of Internet generation in the 21st Century?
- What are the best methods for implementing ICT to your teaching strategies?
The first part of the contribution aims at demonstrating researches done in the USA and later in Australia on characteristics of the Internet generation. Researches confirm that new-age youth generation requires a different approach; therefore, teaching strategies need to be adapted. New teaching strategies are based on experimental learning, interactivity, appropriate ways of information search, acquiring of digital literacy, fast responsiveness, etc.
The second part of the contribution illustrates activities and possible solutions which are being developed within the e-schooling project to provide support for teachers at their training. These include the use of e-portfolio as a technology and methodology for monitoring and self-reflecting their own work, a display and demonstration of one's own competencies and a tool for self-expression.
