Računalnik ji omogoča krepitev močnih področij, samozavesti in sigurnosti in slabenje šibkih, katere so bile neprimerljivo večje pred uvedbo računalnika.
Abstract
The primary school teachers meet every year to teach a group of a certain generation. The students are of the same age and the groups are mostly heterogeneous including special needs children, children with specific learning problems and talented children.
My contribution is about the work done with a girl, who is defined as mildly physically disabled child diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This condition includes deficiency in different learning areas. Nevertheless, the computer is her world – the world of textbooks, notebooks and books – which allows her to be very successful. She can read, write letters, write sentences, draw, calculate and make her own assignments on the computer. The computer enables her to strenghten her strong areas, confidence, security and to lessen her weaknesses, which were more pronounced before she started using the computer. The smile on her face when working with different computer activities, interactive content and programs shows us that this type of work is beneficial to children with similar diagnoses. Using the computer helps these students to be more successful, more pleased and less strained in everyday life.
Key words: mildly physically disabled child, computer, adapted lessons
