Kako uvesti pouk računalništva v 25000 angleških šol
How to get Computing taught in 25,000 schools in England

BCS je v sodelovanju s skupino Computing At School (Računalništvo v šoli) in s podporo 50 univerz in ministrstva začel vzpostavljati nacionalno infrastrukturo za strokovno usposabljanje s področja poučevanja računalništva v Angliji. Predavatelj bo predstavil novi učni načrt in izzive, ki ga prinaša njegova uvedba v 25000 šol.
Abstract
From September 2014 Computing will be a statutory subject in all 25,000 schools in England. Children from age five will be introduced to computer programming and the concepts of computer science. This is a massive step change from the current subject of Information and Communication Technology, which has focused on the use of software packages and will now be replaced by Computing. BCS together with the Royal Academy of Engineering were asked by the UK Government's Department for Education (DfE) to develop this new Computing curriculum. BCS in cooperation with the Computing At School group (CAS) have also begun to create a national infrastructure for providing computer science professional development to all schools in England, with support from over 50 universities and the DfE. The talk will cover what the new curriculum looks like and the challenges of getting this successfully taught in 25,000 schools.
