Povzetek
Vključitev IKT v pouk je prinesla nove načine izobraževanja, ki so učiteljem omogočila, da svoje učence povežejo z drugimi učenci po vsem svetu. Učitelji svoje učence vključujejo v kulturne izmenjave, medtem ko spodbujajo tudi učenje preko sodelovalnega projektnega dela.  Učitelji, zagovorniki in ponudniki storitev, ki podpirajo sodelovalno projektno delo, so navdušeni nad njegovimi koristmi za učence in pomenom za izobraževanje. Neprestano uvajajo spletne izobraževalne mreže, ustanavljajo vladne izobraževalne agencije, spodbujajo strokovno izpopolnjevanje in delijo svoje znanje na mednarodnih konferencah.  Na internetu je obilo primerov tele-sodelovalnega projektnega dela učencev.  A vendar, kot kažejo raziskave, presenetljivo malo učiteljev dejansko sodeluje v spletnih projektih, tovrstno izobraževanje pa je eno od najmanj uporabljenih metod poučevanja med učitelji, ki IKT redno uporabljajo za potrebe izobraževanja.   Da bi spodbudili učitelje k razširitvi učne izkušnje za svoje učence onstran štirih sten razreda, bo ta predstavitev ciljala na deset (ali več) razlogov, zakaj naj bi vsak učitelj vključil ta projekt v svoj izobraževalni proces.

Abstract
The arrival of ICT in the classroom has brought new ways of learning that have allowed teachers to connect their students with other students around the world. Teachers engage their students in cultural exchanges while also promoting learning through collaborative project work.  Teachers, advocates, and service providers who support telecollaborative project work are passionate about its benefit to students and its value to education. They have and continue to establish online learning networks, create educational governmental agencies, promote professional development, and share knowledge at international conferences. The Internet abounds with examples of student telecollaborative project work. Yet, surprisingly, research shows that very few teachers actually participate in online projects and this teaching practice appears to be one of the least used teaching methodologies among teachers who regularly use ICT for instructional purposes.  In an effort to encourage teachers to extend the learning experience for their students beyond the four walls of the classroom this presentation will target 10 (or more) reasons why all teachers should make this a part of their classroom instructional practice.
