Povzetek
Arnes nudi organizacijam podporo pri izvedbi video konferenc oziroma prenosu aktivnih multimedijskih vsebin preko interneta, vključno s pretočnim videom (ang. streaming). Večtočkovne H.323 videokonferenčne storitve so uporabnikom na voljo že od leta 2003, v letu 2007 pa so bile še posodobljene z novim večtočkovnim videokonferenčnim strežnikom (MCU) in novim strežnikom za snemanje in prenos video konferenc (VCR) v živo s tehnologijo pretočnega videa. Visoka kakovost zvoka in slike je značilna za klasične video konference, kjer se vse bolj uporablja tudi že slika visoke ločljivosti (HD) in širokofrekvenčni zvok. V letu 2008 bo uporabnikom na voljo nova storitev »spletne video konference«, namenjena uporabnikom, ki nimajo dovolj zmogljive videokonferenčne opreme (uporabljajo le spletno USB-kamero) in pri video konferenci želijo zelo enostavno uporabo brez potrebe po namestitvi dodatne programske opreme in s poudarkom na skupnem delu z dokumenti in manj na kakovosti zvoka in slike. Spletne video konference niso združljive s klasičnimi video konferencami (standardi H.323 in SIP).

Abstract
Arnes supports deployment of videoconferences (or active multimedia content over the Internet, which includes streaming video). Multipoint H.323 videoconference services have already been available to users since 2003. In 2007 the system was upgraded with a new Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) and a new server for live streaming and recording of videoconferences (VCR). Better quality audio and video are typical of classical videoconferences where they are already using High Definition (HD) video and higher frequency audio connections. In 2008, users will be offered a new service: Web Videoconferencing which is directed at users who do not have powerful videoconferencing equipment (all that is required is a simple Web cam). It is also suitable for those who need ease-of-use without the need for installing extra software with the stress on collaborative work on documents and have less need for audio and video. Web videoconferences are not compatible with classical videoconferences (standard H.323 and SIP).
