THE ROLE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF AN ICT COORDINATOR

Povzetek V prispevku je predstavljen avtorjev pogled na vlogo in pomen računalničarja – organizatorja informacijske dejavnosti. Ta profil je po mnenju avtorja eden od ključnih na poti k sodobnejši informatizirani šoli. Ob uvedbi tega delovnega mesta je slovensko šola veliko pridobila na področju kvalitetnejše vpeljave informacijsko- komunikacijske tehnologije v učni proces, kar je bil eden glavnih razlogov za vpeljavo. Žal se ves čas obstoja računalničarja – organizatorja informacijske dejavnosti na osnovnih šolah pojavljajo različni pritiski, ki njegovo vlogo in pomen spreminjajo v skrbnika strojne in programske opreme, vzdrževalca spletnih strani, snemalca šolskih dogodkov in podobno. Prav tako niso določena znanja, ki naj bi jih računalničar – organizator informacijske dejavnosti imel, zelo ohlapni so tudi kadrovski pogoji za zasedbo tega mesta. Avtor predlaga natančnejšo določitev vloge in pomena tega profila, katerega mesto vidi v ožji vodstveni ekipi šole. Avtor predstavi določene poglede na obseg znanj, ki naj bi jih računalničar – organizator informacijske dejavnosti imel in predlaga organiziranje ustreznega podiplomskega izobraževanja za računalničarja – organizatorja informacijske dejavnosti. Meni tudi, da bi ta profil morali imeti na vseh izobraževalnih ustanovah.

Abstract The paper presents the author's view of the role and the significance of an ICT Coordinator. The author believes that introducing ICT Coordinators is one of the crucial steps towards a more modern ICT enabled school. Since the profile was introduced, Slovene schools have profited greatly in the field of quality introduction of information and communication technologies into the education processes, which was the primary reason for the introduction of the profile. Unfortunately, ever since ICT Coordinators were placed into primary schools, they have been exposed to different pressures that have been turning them into hardware and software administrators, web page designers, cameramen at school events, etc. It is also not clear what skills and knowledge an ICT Coordinator should possess. The employment policy has not been clearly defined either. The author suggests that the role and the significance of the profile should be more clearly defined. The author's opinion is that ICT Coordinators should be considered to be members of the school management team. The author's views of the knowledge and skills of the ICT Coordinators are also given. Post graduate courses for ICT Coordinators should be organized. The author firmly believes that ICT Coordinators should be placed in all educational establishments .
