Abstract

The paper provides a practical demonstration of the use of Interactive Whiteboard-based Learner Response Systems in classrooms, exploring ways in which the relationship between teacher and pupil can be transformed by this new technology. It will also explore the implications of this technology in the light of recent discoveries in neuroscience, specifically the relationship between emotion, motivation and learning. The paper will argue that stress and negative emotion are among the biggest barriers to effective learning and that Interactive Technology and Learner Response Systems have the potential to significantly reduce these obstacles.
