Povzetek
Pri oblikovanju in razvoju produkta za izobraževalne namene, na primer elektronskega učbenika, se moramo še bolj kot sicer zavedati odgovornosti za kvaliteto. Na primernih stopnjah je treba izvesti sistematične preglede načrtovanja in razvoja. Prevzem sistema vodenja kakovosti razvojnega procesa našega produkta je bila strateška odločitev razvojnega tima E-um.

Prikazali bomo učinkovitost znane metodologije sistemov vodenja kakovosti, znane pod imenom PDCA-krog nenehnih izboljšav, ki smo jo v veliki meri uporabili pri razvojnem projektu E-um (pri vseh procesih). Pri izvajanju sistema vodenja kakovosti razvojnega projekta smo določili kriterije in metode, potrebne za zagotovitev tako uspešnega delovanja kot tudi uspešnega obvladovanja vodstvenih aktivnosti, preskrbe človeških in tehničnih virov ter realizacije produkta. Postavili smo cilje kakovosti, ki so merljivi in naravnani k izpolnjevanju pričakovanj in zahtev odjemalcev oz. uporabnikov (učiteljev, učencev, širše javnosti in izobraževalnega sistema nasploh). Dober razvojni tim mora namreč nadzorovati informacije o zaznavanju odjemalcev (uporabnikov produkta), ali je rezultat projekta izpolnil njihove zahteve, in določiti metode za pridobivanje in uporabo teh informacij.

Abstract
In designing and developing of any educational endeavour, such as e-book, the quality should be the main concern and the finest goal. Systematic analysis of achievements and creative reviews of planning are to be done regularly. It was a strategic decision of the E-um team to adopt the quality management system as a part of assuring quality in the development of E-um project.

We present and argue that a well-known quality management system methodology, called »Plan-Do-Check-Act« (PDCA) was very effectively applied in our continuous and cyclic process of reviews and improved performance. To implement the quality management system in our project, we determined criteria and methods needed to ensure that both the operation and control of the processes (management activities, providing human and technical resources, product realization and measurement of quality) have been effective. We had defined quality objectives which are measurable and consistent with expectations and requirements specified by the customers and all users (teachers, pupils and education system environment). Namely, in order to guarantee the final quality a superb management team has to monitor and thoroughly consider information relating to customer/user perception as to whether the product has met their expectations and requirements. And to acquire this crucial information on customer's perception of the product's quality, reliable and comprehensive methods have to be designed.
