USE OF OPENOFFICE.ORG AT INFORMATICS LESSONS IN SECONDARY SCHOOL SLOVENSKA BISTRICA

Povzetek
Pri pouku informatike v srednjih šolah se večinoma uporablja Microsoftov Office, katerega večinoma uporabljajo tudi dijaki doma, čeprav večina nima legalne kopije. Pisarniški paket programske opreme OpenOffice.org je legalna alternativa, saj je brezplačen in prosto dostopen vsakomur. Različica 2.0 je poslovenjena in podobno zmogljiva kot Microsoftov Office. To šolsko leto sem pri pouku informatike v prvem letniku programa gimnazija in ekonomski tehnik Microsoft Office nadomestil z OpenOffice.org. Dijaki so ga dobro sprejeli in delajo z njim brez večjih težav. Večina si je OpenOffice.org namestila tudi doma. Do sedaj so delali le z urejevalnikom besedil Writer in le malo jih meni, da je uporabnost Writerja slabša kot uporabnost Worda. Dijakom se zdi moja odločitev za uporabo paketa OpenOffice.org pri pouku informatike ustrezna. Profesorji informatike večinoma poznajo OpenOffice.org, a ga uporabljajo le v manjši meri, tudi pri pouku, čeprav uporaba narašča. Nekateri, ki ga še ne uporabljajo, ga bodo začeli uporabljati prihodnje leto.

Abstract
Microsoft Office is mostly used in informatics lessons at secondary schools. Pupils also mainly use Microsoft Office at home, although very few own a legal copy. OpenOffice.org office suite is a legal alternative, as it is a free software so all users have free access to it. The version 2.0 is available in Slovene language as well and it is as efficient as Microsoft Office. In this school year I have replaced Microsoft Office with Open.Office.org in informatics lessons in the first year of gymnasium and economics school. The pupils accepted it well and use it without major difficulties. Most have installed OpenOffice.org also at home. They have used only the word processor Writer until now and only a few of them believe that the Writer is less useful than Word. The pupils find my decision to use OpenOffice.org in informatics lessons appropriate. The teachers of informatics are mostly acquainted with OpenOffice.org, but they do not use it often. They also use it rarely when teaching informatics, although the usage is increasing. Some of them, who haven't used it ever, will start using it the next year.
