POVEČAJMO AKTIVNOST UČENCEV/DIJAKOV PRI POUKU GEOGRAFIJE S POMOČJO IKT

INCREASING PUPILS´/STUDENTS´ ACTIVITIES WITHIN GEOGRAPHY LESSONS THROUGH USING ICT

Povzetek
Dandanes si skorajda več ne moremo predstavljati pouka geografije brez uporabe IKT. Geografija kot učni predmet je za uporabo sodobnih medijev še posebej dovzetna, z njihovo uporabo namreč povečamo nazornost posameznih geografskih vsebin, učencem/dijakom pa omogočimo več aktivnega dela, s čimer povečamo tudi njihovo motiviranost. Uporaba sodobne tehnologije pri pouku zahteva tudi nove kompetence tako učiteljev kot tudi učencev/dijakov. Učitelj tako prehaja iz tradicionalne vloge posredovalca znanja v vlogo svetovalca za učenje, ki učence/dijake pri njihovem delu le vodi, usmerja in motivira. Učenci/dijaki z uporabo računalniških orodij in programov razvijajo sposobnosti iskanja, selekcioniranja in vrednotenja spletnih geografskih informacij, sposobnosti kompleksnega povezovanja ter izražanja geografskega znanja s pomočjo sodobnih medijev. Opisani programi, ki jih lahko neposredno vključimo v pouk geografije, učencem/dijakom omogočajo lažje razumevanje ter nazoren prikaz posameznih geografskih vsebin kakor tudi lažjo predstavljivost številčnih podatkov, ob tem pa učenci/dijaki razvijajo sposobnosti samostojnega, ustvarjalnega in kritičnega mišljenja ter presojanja.

Abstract
Nowadays we can hardly imagine school lessons of geography without using Information and Communication Technology. As a school subject, geography is incredibly sensitive to Information and Communication Technology as it increases the evidence of particular geographical issues, encourages pupils/students to more active work and intensifies their motivation. The use of modern technology within lessons demands new teachers' competences and pupils'/students' as well. Therefore teachers are giving up their traditional role as mediators of knowledge, in order to become learning counsellors, who lead pupils/students through their working processes, support, direct and motivate them. Through using computer tools and programmes pupils/students develop (re) search, selective and evaluation abilities considering Internet pages containing geographical data and approve their abilities of complex mutual connection and expression of geographical knowledge by means of modern media. The described programmes, which can be included in geography lessons directly, enable pupils/students a better comprehension and an evident survey of particular geographical issues as well as an easier imagination of numerical data. In short, pupils/students develop abilities of independent, creative and critical thinking and judgement.
