E-MEDICA - PROJECT OF CONNECTING MEDICAL SCHOOLS IN CROATIA (PILOT PROJECT OF CARNET)

Edin Kadić, Medicinska šola Ante Kuzmanića Zadar

Predstavitev

V povezavi z uspešnim mednarodnim projektom »Znanje brez meja«, skupnim projektom strokovnega povezovanja Medicinske šole Ante Kuzmaniča Zadar in Srednje zdravstvene šole Ljubljana z uporabo IKT, smo želeli njegove pozitivne izkušnje prenesti v hrvaške zdravstvene šole in strokovno povezati medicinske šole v državi.

  • Izdelava skupnih strokovnih internetnih strani namenjenih poučevanju ( www.e-medica.hr ). Portal urejajo koordinatorji in učenci hrvaških zdravstvenih šol.
  • Videokonference (v zaključni tehnični fazi). Strokovne videokonference potekajo (s pomočjo CARNeta) med petimi zdravstvenimi šolami, opremljenimi s Polycom 5000 in 7000, medtem ko ostale šole spremljajo predavanja preko interneta. Trenutno je vključenih pet zdravstvenih šol (Split, Reka, Zadar, Zagreb in Dubrovnik). Do sedaj je skupno potekalo šest ur videokonferenc.

Abstract
In connection with the successful international project »Knowledge without frontiers«, a collective project of connecting the Ante Kuzmanič Medical School in Zadar and the Medical High-School in Ljubljana. We tried to communicate the positive experience we have had with using ICT to the Croatian medical schools and connect the medical schools in the country. Our intention is enabling, stimulating, educating about the introduction of the use of ICT in the everyday educational process in medical schools.

The author and manager of the project is professor Edin Kadić, and the holder is the Ante Kuzmanić Medical School in Zadar (Davor Vidaković, prof) and all medical schools in Croatia through the Association of headmasters of health schools of the Republic of Croatia.

The project is implemented through four segments of collaboration:

  • Mutual exchange of groups of learners from different Croatian medical schools. So far we have made exchanges of 60 learners, and 30 teachers from 11 schools in 10 towns have participated.
  • Managing project teams (Net-meetings) - these projects are done through the collaboration of project teams from different health schools.
  • The creation of common professional internet pages dedicated to teaching ( www.e-medica.hr ). The portal is managed by coordinators and scholars of Croatia's medical schools.
  • Videoconferences (in the closing technical faze). Professional videoconferences (with the help of CARNet) amongst 5 health schools, equipped with Polycom 5000 and 7000, whilst the other schools follow the lectures through the internet. Currently five medical schools are included (Split, Rijeka, Zadar, Zagreb and Dubrovnik), up to now there have been 6 hours of videoconferences.
